As regards examination, there has been a heated discussion among the general public in our society. People who believe in its necessity may have some arguments as follows. To begin with, examination helps to tell the better-behaved from the worse-behaved students. What s more, examination may stimulate the students to work harder. Take Xiao Wang as an example, a student from Hebei Normal University, he used to have poor command of English. However, under the pressure of College English Test Band 4, he made great progress and can now speak fluent English.

By contrast, some people think that examination may give rise to a series of negative effects. They maintain that examination can not always faithfully reflect one s study performance. It is believed that too many students may be misled and neglect the improvement of practical ability. Examples of High marks but poor competence are often cited on different media.

Just as any coin has two sides, it s no exception with the issue of examination. Students should develop a right attitude toward it and strike a balance between examination and practical ability achievement.

最近，我们全班进行了一次英语考试。大家心里一直提醒吊胆，生怕试卷发下来之后，自己考砸了。

终于，期盼已久的英语试卷出现了。上早自修时，英语王老师手里捧着一大叠试卷，点了几个成绩比较好的同学上去算分数了，我也在其中。我走上讲台，随手抽了一叠试卷，居然第一张就是我的，我迫不及待地算起了分数，一分，八分，七分，十分。我见了，手中的笔一下子掉落到了地上，整个人像是呆住了似的，一直站在那儿。过了许久，我才回过神来，继续算起了分数。十八分！我的心不由自主的慌张起来，顿时觉得脸冷冰冰的八十二分。我低声说道：我居然考了八十八分。顿时心情变得低落，把剩下的试卷随手一放，放到了讲台上。我垂头丧气的走到了座位上，低着个头，嘴里默默的读着八十二分，八十二分，八十二分

随后的大半天，我一直都坐在座位上，无论同学们怎么劝我，我都不理睬他们，我心中一直想着回到家里妈妈是如何的痛骂我，是如何的批评我，一想到这儿，我就忍不住起了一身冷汗。

一段轻松悦耳的预备铃响了，同学们都准备好了上课要用的课本，唯独我，还拿着一本英语书。楼老师来了，同桌提醒了我一下，我才反应过来现在是语文课了。我把头埋在语文书里，老师上课讲的是什么我都不知道，只看见楼老师的嘴巴就像鱼嘴巴一样一张一合的在动起来。

傍晚放学，一踏进行政楼，我的脚就变的沉重起来。走进办公室，我看见妈妈像往常一样坐在位子上，我走到她旁边低声地说：妈妈，我考了八十二分。不要紧，有什么关系。我听了觉得不大对头，怎么老妈变得温柔起来了。不过这下总算让我可以把心中的那块大石头放下来了。

是呀，妈妈说得对考砸了又有何妨，做人要做的乐观一些，不要因为一下小事而变得不愉快！

We live in a world full of competition. And the examination is one of the tools to exam whether we meet the standard or not. If we want to enter the key university, we have to get high marks on the College Entrance Exam；if we want to have a good job, we will go through a series of interviews and tests；If we want to drive a car, we have to pass the driving test. Some people complain that there are too many exams in our lives, and these exams cannot truly or fully reflect a person’s ability. Unfortunately, our fate and future are depending on these exams. We cannot avoid them. 我们It’s true that the examinations can only test what we remember instead of what we know. A student with a good memory may find it very easy to get high marks before the examinations. All he needs to do is to remember the knowledge from the textbooks. In this situation, it’s quite unfair to evaluate the students only through exams. What’s more, some unexpected accidents may happen to the students such as a high fever or a sudden headache; this will affect the final marks. Since no one can performs stable all the time. Sometimes, luck plays a vital role in the examinations. The student may guess an answer right although he doesn’t work hard on the course. If the student has a good handwriting, he may get higher marks than others. There are many subjective factors that may affect the outcome of the exams. In a word, it’s not enough to use exams to evaluate the students. If the schools want to assess the students, they shouldd use different ways. Only in this way, the result may be fair.

在我的成长中，经历过了许多事情，唯有一件事，让我难忘已久。

那是在一个风和日丽的星期六。我到学校里参加全国小学生英语决赛。在出门前，我仔细地检查老师要求我们带的水彩笔、铅笔，圆珠笔和准考证。

来到了学校，我找好班级并且按老师的安排找好位置坐了下来。在考试前，我把笔和准考证放在桌面，并仔细地回忆老师前一段时间给我们所讲的内容。

发试卷了，我拿着试卷，数了一数，哇噻！总共有12页，这么多呀！于是，我怀着一颗怦怦的心认真地答起卷来。做完听力部分后，我觉得这份卷还挺容易的嘛！于是，我在心里暗暗地鼓励自己快速地写完。差不多写完了，题还挺简单的，可是当我写到一道智力测试题时，便愣住了：这道题好像在考试复习前老师给我们温习过的，可我就是记不起来，真糟糕！我便努力地回想着老师考试前给我们讲过的内容。“哦”我想起来了。我便把我想到的答案写上去。答完试卷后，我便认认真真的把试卷给检查了一遍。

要收试卷了，老师把一张张试卷收起来。我在回想着刚才答卷的情景，真是“山重水复疑无路，柳暗花明又一村”啊！

过了一两个星期后，成绩终于出来了。我很荣幸获得了三等奖，虽然我比不上一二等奖的同学，但是，我已经心满意足了。因为我已经尽力去做了。

是的，“不经风雨，怎见彩虹”呢？

生活中有很多事都能让我们得到启示，如小草顽强生长、蜜蜂勤劳采蜜、老师辛勤教育等。令我印象最深的，还是四年级时的一次英语测试。

英语课上，蒋老师正眉飞色舞地讲着课，临下课前，她对我们说：“明天英语要小测验，课后请大家认真复习。”“啊？”那些英语成绩不好的同学都叫苦不迭，而我和几个英语成绩非常好的同学都高兴不已，英语考试不是手到擒来的事嘛。

回到家，我把书包往沙发一扔，以最快的速度把作业写完，拿出电脑，看起了动画片，玩得不亦乐乎。晚上，妈妈回来了，我对她自信满满地说：“明天英语测试，一百分稳拿了。”妈妈以为我已经复习完了，就带我到小区散步去了。

第二天的英语课，老师一把试卷发下来，我就“唰唰唰”地写起来。我发现这些题都是我做过的，题目还没读完，我就开始答题，不一会儿就写完了。我开始东张西望，发现其他同学都还没写完呢，我得意了起来，竟忘了检查。“张琼月，你做完了就交卷吧。”蒋老师温和地说道。于是，我在众目睽睽之下，得意地昂着头，交了试卷。没过一会，蒋老师轻声对我说：“下课后去我办公室一趟。”

“叮铃铃”下课的铃声响了，我来到了蒋老师办公室，“老师，有什么事吗？”蒋老师严肃地对我说：“看看你的试卷吧。”说完，她把试卷递给我。我一下子看到了鲜红的分数“90分”，“天呐！这是怎么回事？”蒋老师又严厉地对我说：“你知道为什么考不好吗？因为你没有仔细读题，更没有认真检查，你太骄傲了。”听了老师的话，我羞愧地低下了头。

走出老师办公室，我分析了这次考试失利的原因：我太骄傲了，没有认真对待这次测试。“谦虚使人进步，骄傲使人落后”，我不由想到了这句至理名言，吸取了这次教训，这句话也深深地记在了我的心里。

In my opinion, examinations are one of the important activities in school life. I have gone through all sorts of examinations since my primary school. I have tasted the flavor of happiness and sadness.

Before examinations I always have a hard time and don't know what to examinations I feel nervous and sometimes my mind bees blank Only after examinations does the world seem to be bright again and am I brimming with vigor. We often plain that our teachers make trouble for us on purpose. But it is not true.

The fact is that examinations are just a way to-help us do better in our study.
